Pure single-photon emission from an InGaN/GaN quantum dot

چکیده

Single-photon emitters with high degrees of purity are required for photonic-based quantum technologies. InGaN/GaN dots promising candidates the development single-photon but have typically exhibited emission insufficient purity. Here, pulsed is measured from an InGaN dot. A raw g(2)(0) value 0.043 ± 0.009 no corrections whatsoever achieved under quasi-resonant excitation. Such a low is, in principle, sufficient use key distribution systems.

Single-Photon Superradiance from a Quantum Dot.

We report on the observation of single-photon superradiance from an exciton in a semiconductor quantum dot. The confinement by the quantum dot is strong enough for it to mimic a two-level atom, yet sufficiently weak to ensure superradiance. The electrostatic interaction between the electron and the hole comprising the exciton gives rise to an anharmonic spectrum, which we exploit to prepare the...

Electrically driven polarized single-photon emission from an InGaN quantum dot in a GaN nanowire.

In a classical light source, such as a laser, the photon number follows a Poissonian distribution. For quantum information processing and metrology applications, a non-classical emitter of single photons is required. A single quantum dot is an ideal source of single photons and such single-photon sources in the visible spectral range have been demonstrated with III-nitride and II-VI-based singl...

Photon emission from a cavity-coupled double quantum dot.

We study a voltage biased InAs double quantum dot (DQD) that is coupled to a superconducting transmission line resonator. Inelastic tunneling in the DQD is mediated by electron phonon coupling and coupling to the cavity mode. We show that electronic transport through the DQD leads to photon emission from the cavity at a rate of 10 MHz. With a small cavity drive field, we observe a gain of up to...

Enhanced single-photon emission from a quantum dot in a micropost microcavity

We demonstrate a single-photon source based on a quantum dot in a micropost microcavity that exhibits a large Purcell factor together with a small multi-photon probability. For a quantum dot on resonance with the cavity, the spontaneous emission rate is increased by a factor of five, while the probability to emit two or more photons in the same pulse is reduced to 2% compared to a Poisson-distr...

High-brightness single photon source from a quantum dot in a directional-emission nanocavity.

We analyze a single photon source consisting of an InAs quantum dot coupled to a directional-emission photonic crystal (PC) cavity implemented in GaAs. On resonance, the dot's lifetime is reduced by more than 10 times, to 45 ps. Compared to the standard three-hole defect cavity, the perturbed PC cavity design improves the collection efficiency into an objective lens (NA = 0.75) by factor 4.5, a...
